In TCM, Qi is a vital force essential for growth development and a healthy biological function within the respective organs. Hence, smooth Qi circulation and movement ensures healthy growth development, efficient biological function among organs, the formation and smooth transportation of blood, essence, and fluid in the body. Insufficient Yuan Qi will impede healthy growth development and hasten the process of ageing and weaken immunity.

Health benefits: Improve blood circulation, strengthen immunity to achieve flu prevention

Herbal ingredients: Codonopsis root (Dang Shen), Soloman’s seal (Yu Zhu), Anemarrhena rhizome (Zhi Mu), Astragalus root (Huang Qi), Red dates, Szechuan lovage rhizome (Chuan Xiong), Agaricus subrufescens (Ba Xi Gu)

Instructions:

1) Rinse through all the herbal ingredients once. Drain and set aside.

2) Blanch the meat pieces in a pot of boiling water with 3 slices of ginger to remove scum and dirt. Pick the meat pieces out and set aside. (For vegetarians, please select suitable vegetarian ingredients for the soup base)

3) Add 1.5-2L of water and the herbal ingredients into a pot and bring it to boil. 

4) Once the water starts to boil, place the meat pieces back into the pot. 

5) Continue to simmer over high heat for 15-20 minutes before reducing to medium-low heat and simmer for another 90 minutes

中医学说:人体内的“气”是活力很强的精微物质,能激发和促进生长发育及各脏腑的生理功能。因此,人体的生长发育、脏腑的生理活动、精血津液的生成及运行输布等等都要依靠气的推动作用。如果元气不足,推动和激发力量减弱,就会导致生长发育迟缓、生殖机能衰退,抵抗力下降等症状。

功能:促进血液循环,提高机体免疫功能,减少感冒。

食材/药材:党参、玉竹、知母、黄芪、红枣 、川芎 、巴西菇 。

煮法:

1)用清水将材料洗净一遍,

2)用热水涮洗肉类,滴干待用,(素食者可自行选择其他适合煮汤的素料)

3)准备一锅1.5 -2 公升清水,将洗净药材置入锅里;

4)开大火煮沸后,再加入肉类或素料放入于锅中

5)煮沸15-20分钟后,关至中小火,在慢煮90分钟左右就可。
